Wantz Chevrolet, Cleaning up the Environment One Step at a Time GM is now Leaner – Greener – Faster – Smarter What we can do for you? - GM and Wantz Chevrolet is working on reducing Carbon Emissions from cars and other fossil fuel sources.
- Carbon Emissions Reduction is necessary to have a safer and healthier environment for all future generations. Burning Fossil fuels throughout the years has caused dangerous amounts of Carbon Dioxide and other waste in to the atmosphere. Effects of Global warming are: an increase in Hurricane’s, increase in hazardous diseases such as Malaria, Ice Glacier melt and run off, plant and animal extinction, sea level rising over 20 more feet, and the Arctic Ocean may be ice free in 2050. - Wantz Chevrolet is converting cars and vans to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the Washington Gas Company.
- The CNG conversion uses bountiful and secure natural energy to help reduce fossil fuels and pollution. CNG is the cleanest gas of all fossil fuels and encompasses mainly methane carbon dioxide, and water vapor. Coal and Oil releases much more dangerous and hazardous chemicals into the atmosphere; CNG will reduce carbon dioxide by approximately 30-45%. Converting these cars and vans into CNG will reduce environmental problems and other issues connected to Green House Emissions - The Chevy Volt: The Future is Electrifying. According to Chevrolet, the Volt is unlike any electric car that has ever been built, or been on the market. The car company is making an imprint in the Green Car Movement, in hope of one day building a car that never needs a drop of gasoline. The Chevy Volt has been designed by Chevrolet to transport 75% of the United States Commuters on NO gas; for the first 40 miles of the commute the car will release no Carbon Emissions and use only electric power. - Chevrolet offers 25 different choices of hybrid models that also have higher gas mileage and reduce carbon emissions.
How Wantz is making a difference: Although Wantz Chevrolet is doing it’s part to Clean up the Environment One Step at a Time, our dealership can not reduce pollution by ourselves. - Oil in to Energy (Recycling program) – using used oil that can not be put in cars to heat the dealership in the winter.
- Environmentally friendly paint and painting booth system, reducing the amount of chemical run off into water clean up systems
- Diesel Powered Machinery
What GM is doing: General Motors has also jumped on the environmental dealership issue. In several dealerships, they have initiated the following:  Geothermal pumps Has a water-soluble paint booth Have added green vehicles to their lineup Cut energy usage in its own plants and buildings Cleans cars from recycled water – they have a cistern that collect the water the air conditioners and rain. They can then reuse it for washing cars and watering the lawn.
