 | ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2010, WANTZ CHEVROLET CONDUCTED THEIR FIRST OIL CHANGE MARATHON. THIS WAS A CHARITY EVENT, WITH ALL PROCEEDS DESIGNATED FOR THE TANNERS TOUCH FOUNDATION. SERVICE TECHNICIANS AND OTHER STAFF VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME TOWARD THIS PROJECT. TWENTY SEVEN VEHICLES WERE SERVICED IN 5 HOURS WHICH RESULTED IN A $300.00 DONATION FOR TANNERS TOUCH FOUNDATION. OTHER EVENTS PLANNED FOR OCTOBER THROUGH DECEMBER INCLUDE COLLECTING CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS; COLLECTION SITE FOR CARROLL COUNTY FOODS AND TOYS FOR TOTS AND SEVERAL EVENTS TO BENEFIT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Wantz Chevrolet recently hosted a Car Show to Benefit Tanner J Yingling Cancer Fund. Tanner is a 3 year old currently dealing with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. The Car Show was hosted by Wantz Chevrolet, Taneytown Lions Club, Taneytown Chamber of Commerce and the Taneytown Fire Department. Thanks to all who participated and contributed, we were able to raise $6,000 for Tanner.
"In March 2009, Tanner was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive form of pediatric cancer called Alveoloar Rhabdomyosarcoma. From the time Tanner was diagnosed, we were amazed by the amount of love and support from our friends, family and the community. Because of the support, we decided that we had to give back. This organization holds events that raises money for families of children with cancer and pediatric cancer research.
